Short description
NTR district is a district in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, carved out of the old Krishna district and headquartered at Vijayawada. The district includes urban and rural settlements, several historic temples and tourist circuits (Vijayawada, Amaravati, Kondapalli etc.).
History (short)
The district was proposed in early 2022 and officially created when the Andhra Pradesh government issued the gazette notification in April 2022. It was named to honour Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the former actor‑politician and ex‑Chief Minister.
Boundaries & Administration
The district was carved from parts of the former Krishna district. It is divided into three revenue divisions and around 20 mandals. The administrative headquarters is at Vijayawada where the Collectorate and many district offices are located.

- Mangalagiri — Famous for the Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple (also close culturally to NTR district's tourism circuit).

Getting there: Vijayawada is a major rail and road junction with good connectivity. The nearest airports with frequent flights are Vijayawada (domestic) and Amaravati area airports being developed.
